Just a quick note to say that some of realize that not every grid outage should be blamed on LL and this is DEFFO beyond your control – as frustrating as it is, try to ignore the negative comments – most of us realize how hardworking and dedicated the lindens are.
Hoping for your sakes as much as my own that things are restored soon – best regards – Marisa Naheed )
katjana – the first thing to do is to double check the system requirements on the website – under Downloads – and make absolutely sure you have at LEAST the minimum installed on your computer. If you don’t have enough RAM or a powerful enough graphics card, I believe that alone could be causing your issues.
Next thing would be to clear your cache – if you are fairly new to SL, you may not be aware of the issues a full cache can cause. Even if you can’t actually log in to SL – providing you can get to the log in screen, enter your name and password, then choose PREFERENCE, then NETWORK then CLEAR CACHE – hit CLOSE, APPLY, OK and log out. Log in again and see if that helps.
If you meet or exceed the system requirements – try uninstalling then reinstalling SL. Bear in mind SL supports Windows XP and Linux as well as Mac – the bugs are still being worked on for Windows Vista as I understand it.
Once you’ve tried all of these, feel free to get back to me in this forum or inworld – my name is Marisa Naheed inworld. I am not a Linden official nor am I employed by Linden Labs, however, I have been inworld for a fair while, and would be happy to try to help you.
Erm before the grid went down i sent somone a valuable item, they did not recive it and its not in my inv, do u think they will recive it when grid goes back up?
